Mt. Whitney Area Representative
Three Rivers , CA
Sarah Campe is the Mt. Whitney Area representative for SNC’s South Region, covering Madera, Fresno, Tulare, and Kern counties. Sarah is particularly interested in landscape ecology and making the connection between upper watershed management and “downstream” water resources, although she is happy to participate in any activity that improves the health and well-being of the southern Sierra and its residents.
Sarah grew up inside the borders of Sequoia National Park, where she imprinted the Sierra Nevada. After earning a BS Degree in Environmental Science, Policy and Management (UC Berkeley), a Master's Degree in Conservation Planning (UC Santa Barbara), and spending some years in the “lowlands” – both domestic and abroad – Sarah returned to her beloved southern Sierra. She and her husband and two young sons now live in Three Rivers, the gateway community to Sequoia National Park.
Sarah likes to read, run, and argue with small rodents over who has rights to the garden. She’s delighted to work for an organization that strives to improve the place nearest and dearest her heart.
